At AUSPERL, we specialise in the extraction, processing and beneficiation of perlite, vermiculite, sand and pumice and develop engineered mineral solutions for advanced applications in industries as diverse as cryogenic insulation, filtration, horticulture, construction, cosmetics, and coatings.

1996

Incorporation of Industrial Processors Ltd (INPRO) in New Zealand
The perlite and sand processing assets and business owned by Mintech NZ (OMYA) were purchased by Industrial Processors Limited. Originally the business processed perlite ore, high purity silica sand, and various specialty minerals.

1997

Purchase of Atiamuri Sand & Pumice in New Zealand
The original quarry was established in 1987, and in 1997 this business was purchased through a joint venture of Fulton Hogan and INPRO. INPRO purchased Fulton Hogans’ share in 2000.

2006

Establishment of AUSPERL in Australia
The perlite and vermiculite assets and business owned by ORICA were purchased by Australian Perlite Pty Ltd (AUSPERL). Originally operating from a small, leased site in Banksmeadow NSW, producing expanded perlite and vermiculite for horticulture, filtration and other applications, the company purchased their own premises in Padstow, NSW in 2013 eventually relocating to that 2ha site in 2016.

2011

Establishment of CRYOPERL in Spain
Originally operating with one mobile perlite expander, CRYOPERL completed its first LNG project in Darwin, Australia for Bechtel in 2013. Supported by an exceptional team, we have offices in Barcelona and Houston, and a dedicated maintenance warehouse near Barcelona. CRYOPERL now operates numerous specialised equipment and have undertaken projects across the globe.

2016

Establishment of CHEMICALS in Australia and New Zealand
Originally established for trading polymers, adhesives, cellulose, and diatomaceous earth to clients in Australia, and subsequently New Zealand.

2017

Establishment of THAIPERL in Thailand
After gaining market share, we were issued with our foreign business license to carry on activities in the Kingdom. Thaiperl imports and distributes perlite and vermiculite products to a range of clients within Thailand, and to regional clients.

2020

Incorporation of CRYOPERL USA
Having completed large LNG projects in the USA, CRYOPERL USA was established in 2020 to support our growing client base across North America. This business has completed numerous cryogenic insulation projects across the US and Canada and offers a wide range of services to a diverse client base.
